Since October 2007 Maggie [Hilditch] Hitchman has been a volunteer at Wotton Lawn Hospital 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and from May 2009 an 'artist-in-residence' in the hospital. Maggie has now completed her time with the 2gether NHS Foundation Trust. She has moved to Liverpool with her family and plans to continue being involved in Art, Mental Health & Wellbeing.
A paper will be published in a journal 'Mental Health and Social Inclusion' May 2010, which is an adapted version of the presentation Maggie did at the National Occupational Therapists Conference Brighton 2009.

Volunteer artist at Wotton Lawn Hospital
Acted as expert in terms of leading an ideas exchange with staff and patients for the decoration of a temporary fence on Abbey Ward.
Contributed to the Art Festival July 2009 and acted as "consultant" in terms of co-coordinating different art media sessions, as well as facilitating the use of charcoal within the activity room and therapy garden. The Art Festival was available to both service users, Wotton Lawn staff and passing visitors.
Summer 2008 – planning for and facilitating an acrylic painting with group of 8 service users resulting in 5x3ft canvas currently hanging in the Occupational Therapy Department. This work was described in the presentation to the Annual Occupational Therapy Conference in Brighton, June 2009.
